Who we are
Campus Croc (campuscroc.com) lists free university events open to everyone. It is run by Zoe Humble. You can reach us through the contact page.
Email alerts
If you create an alert, we keep:
- your email address;
- each alert’s name, search words and filters, and how often you want it;
- a record of which events each alert has sent you, so you never get the same one twice.
We use these only to send the alerts you asked for. We confirm your address with a link before anything is sent. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Why we’re allowed to use it
We rely on your consent. You ask for each alert and confirm it from your inbox, you tick a separate box for news, and you choose whether to accept analytics cookies. You can withdraw any of these at any time: unsubscribe from an email, delete your alerts on My alerts, or change your cookie settings.
Campus Croc news
Only if you tick the separate box, we’ll also send occasional news about Campus Croc. You can stop it at any time from any of our emails.
Who handles your information
A few service providers handle it on our behalf, only to run Campus Croc:
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) sends our emails and holds the news list.
- Neon stores the alerts database in London.
- Vercel hosts the website and the code that handles sign-ups, from its London region.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with universities or any other organisation.
How long we keep it
- Alerts you haven’t confirmed: deleted after 7 days.
- Alerts: until you delete them. A stopped alert is kept for 30 days so you can undo, then deleted.
- Records of which events we emailed you: 12 months.
- Your email address: deleted 12 months after you have no alerts left, or straight away if you use “Delete all my data” on My alerts or ask us.
- The news list: until you unsubscribe from it.
Analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we count page visits and click-throughs to university event pages, to see which listings are useful. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of each page.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, through the contact page. If you’re unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
